About Us

The Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) and NDDB Dairy Services (NDS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), have established Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripaa Milk Producer Organisation, Gorakhpur was setup under the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ‘Mahila Samarthya Yojana’ (MSY) for the Dairy Value Chain Development project in the districts of Gorakhpur, Deoria, Maharajganj and Kushinagar. The SBGK MPO was incorporated on 29 August 2022 with the financial support from UPSRLM and technical assistance from NDDB Dairy Services (NDDB’s wholly owned organisation).
The company commenced operations on November 26, 2023, on the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the Father of the White Revolution. Hon’ble CM Yogi Adityanath has inaugurated its 7 BMC centres on 21 December 2024.
A transparent and fair system has been implemented at the village level for milk procurement. Using Data Processor-cum-Milk Collection Units (DPMCU), milk is weighed, tested, and priced in
the presence of the producer. Real-time data on milk collection is digitally transferred to a central server, and payments are made every 10 days directly to the women member’s bank accounts.
In addition to a receipt, women members also receive SMS notifications about their milk poured and payment details, which can also be accessed through the company’s mobile application. Milk collected from Milk producers at village-level MPP is chilled in Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs) installed at various locations.
Key Features of Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripaa MPO:
- A completely women-owned organization, where women milk producer members hold ownership.
- Self-employment opportunities at the village level as dairy farmers and MPP Sahayika.
- A new generation milk producer organisation, ensuring transparent and timely payments to women milk producer members on the 3rd, 13th, and 23rd of every month based on computerized milk testing.
Technical facilities and training are provided at the village level to enhance income from dairy farming.
Infrastructure
The company operates seven Bulk Milk Cooling (BMC) centers with a combined chilling capacity of 65 ,000 liters per day. Early chilling of milk ensures quality preservation by limiting bacterial growth.
Sustainability Initiatives
To reduce operational costs and promote sustainability, Shri Baba GorakhnathKripaaMPO has:
- Installed solar power & heat pump systems at its BMC centers.
- Encouraged the adoption of biogas plants by the members under various schemes of Government.
Quality Control
All BMCs and chilling centers are equipped with quality testing facilities to ensure high standards for raw milk. Continuous quality improvement is carried out based on customer and market feedback.
Digitalization and Transparency
Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripaa MPO prioritizes transparency and efficiency through technology:
- At the village level, a transparent and impartial system has been established for milk procurement. Using Data Processor-cum-Milk Collection Units (DPMCU), milk is weighed, tested, and valued in the presence of the producers. The milk purchase details are transmitted in real time to a central server via digital means, ensuring accuracy. Payments are credited every 10 days directly to the bank accounts of the women members.
- In addition to receipts, women members receive milk-related details and payment information via SMS on their mobile phones and can also access this data through the company’s mobile application.
- Safeguarding the interests of dairy farmers by providing round the year access to organised market.
- Mobile app for members to track their milk pouring data, payments, and notifications.
- Use of GPS-enabled milk routes to ensure transparency from Milk Pooling Points (MPP) to chilling centers.
